JEWELL RADIMISIS JORGE LLP, in partnership with the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association (OTLA) and the Toronto Police Service, along with generous sponsors will be distributing 315 bike helmets to children on April 6, 2019.

Over 300 students at Pleasantville Public School will be fitted with bike helmets at 10:30 a.m. The Mayor of Richmond Hill will also be in attendance.

The Ministry of Health announced that from 2006 to 2012, 93.95% of cyclists under the age of 18 that were killed, were not wearing a helmet.

The goal of the Helmets on Kids Campaign is to place a helmet on the head of every child who needs one in order to promote bike safety and prevent head injuries and fatalities.

The initiative was commenced in the London area in 2002. Since its inception, the Helmets on Kids Campaign has expanded to numerous regions across the province and has distributed over 40,000 helmets to children in need.

Along with the 315 bike helmets, the children will also be given instructions on the proper fitting of a helmet and bike safety. The Toronto Police Service will also give a presentation instructing children about bike safety, the importance of wearing a helmet, and how to wear a helmet properly.

The team at JEWELL RADIMISIS JORGE LLP strongly encourage everyone in our communities to engage in safe cycling practices.

If you or a loved one have been injured in a cycling accident, you may be entitled to receive the help you deserve. Contact us at JEWELL RADIMISIS JORGE LLPand a member of our team will be happy to assist you.
