What is consent? What is informed consent?
The word consent means to give approval or permission. Informed consent of a patient for a plastic surgery or another cosmetic procedure includes the participation of the patient in a clinical intervention after achieving an understanding of the relevant medical facts and the risks involved.
Providing an informed consent is an important role with regards to all medical treatments. The complexity of cosmetic and/or plastic surgeries leads to deeper differences of information between plastic/cosmetic surgeons and patients.
